Cut Flower Patch Sowing Weekend - 15th & 16th February 2025

Our next Catch-Up Cut Flower Patch Weekend is 15th and 16th February - everyone is welcome!

This is the perfect time to join us as we all dig out our February Flower Kits plus any other hardy annual seed packets you have lying around and all sow together.

All online and completely free to attend - join in whether you're a seasoned gardener or have never sowed a seed in your life. 🌸 🌸 🌸 🌸 🌸

THE FLOWER CLUB IS OPEN THIS WEEKEND IF YOU NEED TO GET SOME SEEDS!

Add these dates and times to your diary. And yes, there will be a recording sent out shortly afterwards, but be there live if you can!

Saturday 15th February

10am Sowing

We'll get together online and I'll show you how to sow your February Flower Kit and any other hardy annual seeds that you have. As above, watch my emails this week if you need to get yourself some seeds. If you're new to growing I would STRONGLY encourage you just to start with your February Flower Kit or a few packets of seeds - pace yourself - the way we sow in The Flower Club is little and often.

Get your compost ready and your seed trays washed with hot soapy water and let's all sow on that Saturday.

Simply click here to let me know you're coming and then click again at 10am that Saturday: https://fb.me/e/4vyKx2VBf

2pm Growing

At 2pm I'll go live with a short video tour to show you the cut flower patch, my greenhouse set up and talk to you about next steps with anything you already have growing. Click on the link I'll send you closer to the time and you'll be able to ask me questions and share my greenhouse with me.

Sunday 16th February

10am Giving

Live Q&A call - join me on zoom where I'll talk about everything you need to know about where and how to give and donate your flowers and you can also ask me any questions you have about sowing, growing or giving your flowers.

Add this to your diary or simply click this link at 10am on Sunday 16th February: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86264607577?pwd=KRZPHWapn0cPThU8zo7VMYM4pXGhvj.1

Between now and then

  • Gather your seed packets! Bring your February Flower Kit, plus any Flower Kits you want to sow from August-December, basically any hardy annual seeds. (Tip: I'll be throwing a little birthday sale later this week if you need any extra seeds, watch your inbox!)

  • Get your (preferably peat-free) compost ready and wash all your seed trays/ yoghurt pots/ food containers in hot soapy water so they are clean, fresh and ready-to-go. If you're brand new to growing, take a look here at everything you need to know before you open a packet of seeds. or simply buy our Starter Kit.

  • GET A BUCKET-FULL OF COMPOST AND BRING IT INTO THE HOUSE A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE WE SOW SO YOU'RE NOT SOWING INTO COLD DAMP COMPOST!

  • Get yourself some plant labels! Biggest error 'Oh, I'll remember that I sowed calendula in that seed tray'. You won't.

  • Clear off your windowsills! We're going to start germinating all seeds inside - you can do them inside an unheated greenhouse if you absolutely have to, but preferable in your kitchen where it's toasty and warm.
Looking forward to sowing, growing and giving together!

Don't worry if you're already busy that weekend, you can always follow along and sow whenever you want to after that weekend:)

Can't wait.
